Booking & Appointments

How do I schedule an appointment with Virtual VetDoc™?

It’s easy!
Click on the “Sign Up” button at the top of the screen and choose either a one-time appointment or cost-saving subscription plan. Then, choose a time available that works with your schedule.
Once you confirm the appointment and provide the necessary information, including payment, you will receive a link to use at the time of your appointment.

Can my pet get seen today?

Sometimes, it is possible to have your pet seen the same day. For most cases, appointments are made within 24 hours and include convenient evening and weekend times.

What do I need for my virtual appointment?

You need a phone, table or computer with a camera and microphone.
The vet will need to be able to see your pet up close, so we recommend being in a place and position with good lighting and a flat surface where you can place your pet.
It is a good idea to have a list of any medications, conditions and surgeries your pet has had, to help the vet understand your pet’s current condition.

Can I have the vet seeing multiple pets at one appointment?

No, each appointment slot is designated for one pet. You can, however, save time by booking successive appointments, so that multiple pets can be seen.

How do I cancel my appointment?

You may cancel a subscription appointment from your dashboard at virtualvetdoc.com/login. Urgent appointments cannot be canceled once booked.

Please note the following:

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before appointment: Full refund available
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment: A $50 cancellation fee applies

Need help? Please contact us at info@virtualvetdoc.com.

The vet didn’t show up to my appointment

We sincerely apologize for any delays. Please let us know immediately via the chat so we can connect you with the vet or reschedule at no charge. For urgent situations, we'll prioritize getting you seen right away.

You can also email info@virtualvetdoc.com for follow-up.

Pricing

How much does an appointment cost?

  • Quarterly Plan — $29/month (billed quarterly)
  • Annual Plan — $12/month (billed annually)
  • Urgent Appointment — $59/visit

The appointment fee covers the consultation and diagnosis for one pet. Prescriptions or other products recommended by the vet are separate and paid directly to the pharmacy.

Are prescriptions included in the price?

The appointment fee includes the consultation and writing any necessary prescriptions at no extra cost. However, the medications themselves are purchased separately through a pharmacy (either ours or your local pharmacy). Medication costs vary depending on what’s prescribed.

How can I pay for my appointment?

We process payments securely through Stripe and accept all major credit cards supported by Stripe. Please note that payment is required to book your appointment.

How do subscriptions work?

Virtual VetDoc offers subscriptions that provide affordable, ongoing care when you need it:

Annual subscription: This is the best value at $12 per month. You get two visits per month, and those can be used for multiple pets.

Please note: First time patients can apply the fee for an urgent appointment ($59) toward an annual subscription ($144) for 24 hours following the first appointment. Both subscriptions auto-renew, but you can cancel at anytime from your dashboard, before the next billing cycle.

Can I get a refill without another appointment?

For safety and legal reasons, refills typically require a follow-up consultation to ensure the medication is still appropriate for your pet's condition.

However, if your pet was recently seen and needs the same prescription, contact us at info@virtualvetdoc.com — we may be able to assist without a full appointment.

Is this service legitimate?

Virtual VetDoc is a legitimate telehealth veterinary service. All our veterinarians are fully licensed, board-certified professionals. We’re registered in multiple states and follow all veterinary telehealth regulations. If you have specific concerns, please let us know.

Can you provide health certificates for travel?

No, health certificates for travel require an in-person physical examination. Legal requirements prevent us from providing this service. We recommend making an appointment with a local veterinarian for travel health certificates. However, we can help with other prescription needs, travel advice and other preparation for your pet.
