Whitney Collins, DVM

No pets due to frequent travel

Experience

I have been in the veterinary medical and conservation fields for two decades and practicing as a doctor of veterinary medicine since 2020.

Special interests

I love studying health at the human, animal, ecosystem interface in addition to conducting research and teaching medicine to rising pre-veterinary students. When not working with domestic animals, my passions involve working with free-ranging wildlife in Central and South America. I've worked with small animals, birds, exotics, small and large ruminants, and free-ranging and captive wildlife.

Pet Parent

No pets at the moment, but I treat every pet I treat like my own!

Why virtual vet care?

Emergencies happen at every hour of the day and having a peace of mind, while in the comfort of your own home, can make a scary situation more manageable. Providing in-home care during these emergencies can also better prepare the pet for their in-person veterinary visit when needed.

Education

University of Missouri- Columbia (DVM)

University of Missouri - St. Louis (M.Sc., Biology)

University of Missouri- Columbia (B.Sc. Animal Science, Fisheries & Wildlife Science; Captive Wild Animal Management)

Outside work

I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, hiking, yoga, gardening, cooking, and learning Spanish.
